Time with an affectionate one

She was a loving and very articulate for her young age. She was a sports girl and many who know would recall that at her age, she was very vibrant when it comes to participating in sporting activities such as volleyball, athletics and even football. She even partakes in supporting ‘jama’ to raise the spirit of other colleagues and team mates.

The lady in question attended Big-Ada Methodist Primary School before I came into the country and when I enrolled into the Big-Ada Methodist Junior Secondary School; now Big-Ada Methodist Junior High School under the headship of the late Mr. Adjaottor, we both sat close to each other and we were intimate friends but no strings of affection attached then. She was one lady among many others that loved what I did when it comes to Visual Arts, Technical Skills, Technical Drawing and Mathematics.

We would crack jokes and much more. She was full of fun and smiles and was very hardworking. I use to call her my Love, back in the day.
At a point in time, I left her and my other colleagues when I was in Junior Secondary School Form 2. I was sad to depart from her and some lovely pals of mine. These few words I’m scribbling reminds me deeply of my very close brother, the late Victor Ofoe Hadjor.
Tears are flowing down my cheeks as I write because he brings lots of good memories. Ofoe Hadjor and I always planned together and each time, we strived to see how we could raise our skills to higher heights.
Victor and I were so close because all we did were in common. We ate art, drink designs, scribbled Technical Skills and when it came to Technical Drawing, we were just superb! There was another classmate too who was a strong competitor when it comes to Technical Skills, Technical Drawing and Mathematics; his name was Abraham Ahumah Sikapah. Abraham is still alive and strong.
Gone were the days.
Now, back to my story about my affectionate one. When I left her and my other pals, I went to continue my junior secondary education at Presbyterian Junior Secondary School headed by the late Mr. Sika Nartey; a very strict headmaster who would discipline anyone very well at any level without mercy but he instilled hope in me, and coming fresh into the country to sit for a Ghanaian language and passing by getting aggregate 3 in Dangme, it wasn’t an easy task but God made me shine among my peers.
My lady and I, after completing our junior secondary education, both got admission into the Ada Senior Secondary School (Great ADASCO); now Ada Senior High school. As if we were destined to be together, we were both in the same class- Visual Arts class and close to each other as usual including my late intimate friend, Victor Ofoe Hadjor. This time, she counted on me when it came to aspects of Art. Some of the subjects I would offer help were General Knowledge in Arts, Picture Making and Textiles.
Oh my sweet vivacious lady, she was my dear one; indeed, during the days of schooling, we were like siblings.
Soon, we were able to complete our secondary education and from thereon, love and affection set in. Before that, I was dating a young girl in my final year. When we completed, this affectionate lady of mine, now made me come alive to be a man, but without sex.
Later, after a year, I left town for Kumasi to join my Dad and returned some few months later, and she was still around.
About a year later, I left town to work and re-sit two examination papers I didn’t pass well. And so, we weren’t in touch again till she travelled out of the country when her father died.
When she left, in 4 years, this sweet affectionate lady came back to Ghana and went searching for me from my mom and other relations, but sadly, they couldn’t give her any tangible information about my whereabouts. When she got hold of my number, she couldn’t reach me because I wasn’t using my cell phone in those days. My father wanted me to learn well to be a great person in future and my mom was also strict and very principled and monitored every move I made.
When she came looking for me and couldn’t find me or hear from me, she left coldly.
Later and finally, thanks to Facebook. We got in-touch with each other through the social network. When we finally caught a glimpse of each other, we were so excited and didn’t know what we could do through the internet.
Finally, she got married and I also got glued to another lady of which we didn’t spend much time getting to know each before marrying.
She is abroad and we still deeply love each.
Sweetheart, may you live long till we meet again!
