MTN wins big at GHRIA 2019

Award winners at the event MTN Ghana Limited, a leader in the telecommunication industry, has emerged the biggest winner at the 2019 Ghana Human Resource Innovation Awards (GHRIA) - beating Guinness Ghana Limited, Barclays Bank and Goldfields Ghana Limited. Papaye Fast Food opens new Kaneshie-Awudome branch

GIA cuts sod for construction of an office

The sod-cutting ceremony took place last week Tuesday and was attended by Board Members of the GIA and their representatives. In a brief statement, Madam Aretha Duku-President/Board Chairman of GIA, commended her predecessor’s effort in having the Association in mind by acquiring the land that the industry now wants to utilise. She said the construction of this ultra-modern structure of enlightenment is expected to be completed in the next two years. Uber & Old Mutual to offer drivers and riders insurance cover

Uber drivers and riders will from December 21, 2018 enjoy an Injury Protection cover, provided by Old Mutual Ghana. Per the agreement, all Uber driver-partners will benefit from this cover from the moment they accept a trip - while driving to pick up a rider, and until the trip ends; while riders will also be covered from the time their ride begins, until the trip ends. The packages include: Medical Cover : If an accident happens On-Trip, this cover reimburses drivers and riders for necessary medical treatment costs up to GH¢12,500. In addition, this cover reimburses ambulance service costs. Death and Funeral Payments : In the unfortunate event that a driver-partner or rider dies as a result of an accident On-Trip, their dependents or heirs will benefit from a lump-sum payment of GH¢50,000. Childhood cancer care delivery in Ghana has many dire challenges, with a large portion of communities still without access to this basic health care service. With just about two childhood cancer treatment centers (Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, and a bigger one in Korle-Bu), Wesoamo Child Cancer Foundation is helping to give access to this major healthcare problem. Cameroonians launch association in Accra

Cameroonians living in Ghana have come together to form an association called Cameroonian Association Resident in Ghana, Nungua (ARCAN) to unite and create a platform that will help them support one another away from home. The association, which was launched in Nungua, a suburb of Accra, will address some of the challenges the Cameroonian community face in the country and find innovative ways to help them as there is no embassy or consulate present in Ghana to attend to their needs. Speaking to the B&FT, President of the group, Leonardo Asu, highlighted the purpose of forming the association and encouraged all Cameroonians to join. “This group has been formed to bring all Cameroonians together so that, together, we can address some of the problems we face while living here by channeling it to the government of Ghana. Cameroon does not have a consulate in Ghana and so we find it difficult for the government to know what problems we face here. So, we feel if we
