George Mensah nominated Vice President of WAICA

George Mensah, Managing Director-Ghana Reinsurance Company, has been nominated as Vice President of the West Africa Insurance Companies Association (WAICA). WAICA is the trade Association of all insurance companies in Anglophone West African countries.   The nomination is coming the heels of a request from the WAICA secretariat in Ghana for a Vice President to assist the current President, Saye Gbalazeh of Liberia, whose term expires in April 2022. B&FT learnt that at the end of Saye Gbalazeh’s tenure in April 2022, a fresh election will be conducted to nominate a president for the year’s Annual General Meeting and Conference, which all things being equal will be held in Accra, Ghana. Subsequently, going by WAICA’s constitution, the sitting Vice President automatically gets the presidential slot. The Maiden edition of the “CorpNation Foundation Community hype” event was launched at the Takoradi Mall on the 3 rd and 4 th of December, 2021. The two-day event is an initiative of CorpNation Foundation and was under the theme “collectively projecting the good and addressing challenges in our communities”. It brought together representatives of several communities in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis to project their communities and make a case for them.   ASA Savings and Loans Limited has presented various items to support the needy but brilliant children of Tetteh Ocloo State School for the Deaf in Ashaiman as part of its educational support programme. The ASA’s scholarship scheme and educational support programme forms part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities taken to support its operational areas. At a short presentation in Ashaiman on Tuesday, the Branch Manager for Ashaiman branch, Mr. Ebenezer Sarpong said “It’s Christmas festive season and as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) there was the need to fulfil a support to the Tetteh Ocloo State School of the Deaf. To add, as a company, Mr. Sarpong further said it has always been their priority to meet the needs of their stakeholders through CSR to support developmental transformation in education, health and other community related issues. “Schools with physically challenged pupils need greater support from us and the private sector
