The all-new Honda CB 500X motorbike: Welcome to the road

Okada satisfies the need for convenient facilitation now, especially with deliveries and evasion of heavy traffic for time-saving. Today, I’m talking about Honda’s newest motorcycle: the CB 500X.

In this article, you’ll see what your money is worth for such a welcome motorbike; and yes, over the years of testing and riding several brands of motorbikes, I’ve realised that Honda’s motorcycles will blow your mind.

These are the motorcycles/machines we look forward to. They might not be perfect, but you’ll remember them for a really very long while. Today, I present the CB500X from Honda - a motorbike that promises to ‘wow!’ many with its simplicity after a quick ride in town.

Also, let me say that Honda has made the 500X’s appearance very attractive. It’s tall at the front, and it’s got a small, sharp beak and quite a tall windscreen; and also, Honda has kept the bodywork very simple. It’s nice and sober while giving a very good ride.

What can the picture attached to this article tell you? It tells that the Honda CB 500X a really narrow motorcycle that is somehow appealing. Not only does this model make the CB 500X look more flexible, but it also increases the sense of control. On paper, the record may not look that spectacular; but when you have a ride or acquire one, you’ll appreciate the feel of it.

The CB 500X gives about 3.5bhp (brake horse power) less, but gets to 2500rpm (rotations per minute). Open the throttle and you’ll see why unstressed engines, big engines making reasonable power, are beautiful. The CB pulls ahead with much conviction, the torque kicks in beautifully, there aren’t any hiccups… It’s smooth, it’s refined, it’s beauty in action. Even at 120kmph, there’s absolutely no strain on the engine. You will likely need a runway to work out where this tops out. It is assumed that it’s at about 180kmph - but that’s not what the CB 500X is supposed to be for. Honda has got the texture right. It’s getting to be known a tremendous holidaymaker, and an outstanding ‘fit for town’ ride.

The engine on the CB 500X feels limitless, and the suspension, telescopic fork at the front and preload-adjustable shock at the rear cause you to think ‘this is it!’ Let me tell you, the ride-quality is extremely settled with this new Honda motorbike. The stock setting makes sure you’ll ride this on city roads at ease, and out on the highway as well - with the superiority to tackle bad roads also. This generation of the CB gets a much bigger front wheel, which suggests it can still continue once the major road ends. With dual-purpose tyres, you will start enjoying the motorcycle more.

With the all-new Honda CB 500X, you must keep it to soft-roading as much as you can because the sump lies exposed and there is no bash plate in sight. If the off-road action gets serious, then you should look for a sump guard; and if it gets serious, stop mucking about with soft-roaders and get a proper off-roader! The ergonomic package feels like a warm blanket on a frosty day! Right from the handlebar position to placement of the pegs.

From the comfort of the seat to the way one holds the tank, everything is picture-perfect! With the handling, too, the CB 500X has moved from a 17-inch front and a tighter rake to a 19-inch wheel, with the rake being one degree more now. What that means is Honda has opted to make the CB 500X a bit more stable for this generation.

The CB is elegant around corners, managing its weight well. Low speeds, high speeds, no speeds, the weight distribution is on point. Not once did I feel the 199kg curb weight of the motorcycle; that’s how good the balance is.

Honda created the CB 500 series, including the X, to be an affordable and accessible entry-level motorcycles globally. This means they are easy to ride and economical to buy. The CB 500 is easy-going, no stress, non-intimidating and springs no surprises when riding. Before you yawn, it’s not boring at all!

This can be your first motorcycle, and it can also be the second motorcycle in your garage; and for some, it can be a motorcycle that lasts a lifetime. If you ask me, Honda’s got the CB 500X nailed. It’s a simple, modest, yet extremely usable, efficient and memorable kind of motorcycle, and that’s why it’s the most convenient motorbike for me.

To summarise it all, the all-new Honda’s CB 500X will do everything that you ask of it. Want to do shopping? It will do it! City riding? Done! Highway touring? Comfortable! Deliveries? Awesome! You can do anything on it.

There are two things that I want to close the story with: one, this is a special motorcycle even if you don’t plan on buying it; and if someone offers you a chane, riding one is an absolute must! And, second, this is an extremely versatile machine but it’s not hardcore. It’s simple, it’s real, it’s heart-warming - and you must have heard of this saying: ‘some of the best things in life are simple indeed!’ The great specialty of this machine is that it’s really simple.
