“Stop spreading fake news”

 



Prof. King Odaifio Welentsi III, the Paramount Chief of Nungua Traditional Area who is also the president of Nungua Traditional Area and the vice president of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs has warned traditional chiefs, residents and the media at large to desist from publishing fake news without knowing the real truth to a matter.

“Know that you are a chief and a citizen under the traditional ruler, respect and know how to use the name of the Paramount Chief for dubious use, and I am saying it with the authority of the stool that if you are found guilty in any misuse of the name of the stool, you’ll be summoned and where necessary, invite the state to look into the matter for necessary actions to be taken,” he said this at the summon of a website which wrongfully used his name for wrong purpose.

“Apart from summoning you, the government of Ghana will apply appropriate sanctions in accordance with the law, if you continue in your illegality of land sale and dubious acts. You don’t and cannot claim the rights and privileges of the law,” King Welentsi III added.

The call to order came when the attention of the Nungua Traditional Council was drawn into an online publication captioned: “Nungua Mantse, Dzasetse in land theft”, which seeks to create attention for wrong purpose.

It was unfortunate that the writer of the website seeks to stain the reputation of King Odaifio Welentsi III and his Dzasetse, Nii Botwe Laryea II in a land dispute involving Alhaji Sulley at Lashibi in the Greater Accra Region.
