SGS is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, recognised as the global benchmark for quality and integrity.

The attainment of the International Organisation for Standardisation ISO certification makes Kasapreko the only local beverage manufacturing company with ISO certification in Ghana and the 2nd beverage manufacturing company in Ghana to receive ISO certification after Coca Cola Ghana limited.

The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) is an international standard-setting body composed of representatives from various national standards organisations, formed on 23rd February 1947, with headquarters at Geneva, Switzerland.

Richard Adjei, Managing Director of Kasapreko, on receiving the ISO certification, reiterated the significance of the certificate to the company and how it is going to help promote the brand Kasapreko as a whole.

“To us at Kasapreko, it is a very important achievement for us because many local companies in Ghana do not take quality issues very important and quality is what has driven a lot of foreign companies to drive out local companies.

We think that taking this step to attain ISO certification is a great step for us, it shows that we really care for quality. We could have done our own quality certifications in-house, however, we have gone a step further to invite SGS to do the audit for us and to get us this certification and this puts a big stamp on the quality systems and products that we have,” he said.

Adjei further stated that, the ISO certification shows that Kasapreko is now higher in terms of quality than any other competitor on the Ghanaian market and also, in terms of export, Kasapreko has already started exporting their products to countries like; USA, UK, South Africa, Russia, Nigeria and others, in addition, the company has also started talking to a lot of international airlines as well as local airlines to partner them in business, so, the certificate gives them the confidence that the quality is same standard as the USA or any other country in the world.

According to Kwasi Okai Mensah, the certification manager of SGS Ghana Limited, ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management System (FSMS) requires for any organisation in the food chain to provide requirements for the establishment, implementation, operation, monitoring, reviewing, maintenance and improvement of a documented FSMS within the context of business risk, establishes a more focused, coherent, integrated FSMS than is normally required by law and finally, it requires organisations to meet any applicable food safety statutory and regulatory criteria...

“We enable you to continuously improve by transforming your services and value chain thereby increasing performance, managing food safety risks, better meeting interested party requirements and managing sustainability,” he indicated

This ISO certification also gives confidence to the consumers that from now on, any product that they are taking from Kasapreko is going to be certified and it is going to be at the best beverage conditions.
