BMW Club Ghana storms Akosombo Township



BMW Club Ghana have organised a road trip to the calm and serene Akosombo township with a convoy of over thirty-five BMW vehicles along with 120 of its members.

The visit forms part of the club’s annual social activities aimed at promoting local tourism by visiting, capturing and exploring exciting sights and sounds of beautiful landscapes and holiday destinations across Ghana.

This year’s road trip dubbed, “Drive Tours,” begun in Accra with a brief stop on the Adomi Bridge. The team continued to the Volta River Authority for a quick tour of the dam and then on to the Volta Hotel-Maritime Club where they held several activities- acknowledging birthdays of members born in the month of August and outdooring new vehicle additions, particularly older models that had undergone recent retrofits, upgrades, refurbishments and complete restorations.

The BMW Club Ghana has in recent times initiated social works aimed at supporting orphanage homes, the National Blood Bank and The Ghana Police Service (MTTU).

Aside the Drive Tours, the club has six other planned upcoming events for the rest of the year including a Health Walk (September), Auto Clinic (October) and another Drive Tour to Cape Coast & Takoradi (October).

The rest of the activities for the year are Cross Country Drive Tour to Lomé, Togo (November), Arrive Alive Road Safety Campaign (December) and the West Africa Drift & Drag Festival (December).



All
club activities are carefully planned weeks in advance with driver, passenger and pedestrian safety at the core of the planning process. Drivers are required to meet all regulatory requirements set by law and their vehicles are required to undergo a mandatory mechanical inspection prior to every drive.

The
club’s Drive’ initiative are designed for all BMW “Spirited and adventurous” drivers and are also family friendly. Every Drive Tour is escorted and led by dedicated police dispatches and accompanied by dedicated ambulance to the rear at all times.  

Founded in 2017, BMW
Club Ghana has grown to become one of Africa’s fastest growing owner supported single-marque car club. Today, the club has over 500 members nationwide and still growing with over 200 due-paying members mutually enhancing one another’s BMW ownership and driving experience.
