ASA Savings and Loans presents scholarships to 20 students




ASA Savings and Loans Limited has presented scholarship package worth GH¢8,000 to 20 needy but brilliant children in primary, Junior High School (JHS) and Senior High School (SHS) at their Maamobi '2' Business Centre premise, in Accra as part of its educational support programme.

The 20 beneficiaries are made up of nine primary pupils, 10 JHS pupils and one SHS student from different schools. The ASA’s scholarship scheme and educational support programme forms part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities taken to support its operational areas.

According to the Newtown Area Manager of ASA Savings and Loans, Mr Emmanuel Osae Addo, without the women in business taking loans and paying on time, business would not have been where it is. So, with support to over 150,000 women in business, it has been a privilege to also support as CSR to the society.

He noted that education is one key priority area of support besides other needs ASA Savings and Loans support.

“The gesture programme is to motivate school children to put in more effort into their studies to improve their performance while encouraging parents not to surrender on the education of their children,” he added.

Some of the parents of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude amidst the excitement. While entreating people to embrace the operations of ASA Savings and Loans, he said the support will go a long way to help them in catering for their children.

ASA Savings and Loans is committed to the cause of CSR and has lined up series of activities such as awarding scholarships, organising free medical screening exercises, donations, among others, at their various operational centres.

He added that ASA Savings and Loans has also introduced an Educational Loan scheme and about reiterating the Individual Loan which has been on hold for a while.
