Star Assurance, Total Petroleum Ghana Troxy Club collaboration launched

Star Assurance Company, a top General Insurer, and Total Ghana launched a collaborative programme at the Total Filling Station near the Golden Tulip, Accra, a fortnight ago.

The two brands - Star Assurance and Total Ghana - are both brands respected in insurance and the oil industry; and the oil company is expected to offer members of Total Ghana’s Troxy Club and the public numerous benefits such as free oil and discounts on some products upon buying a Star Motor policy.

Speaking at the launch, a Director of Finance-Star Assurance, Emmanuel Baiden, said the Total Troxy Club is an especially designed Total Card Package for commercial drivers in Ghana.

According to him, the Total Card is a simple, safe and smart rechargeable tool for managing fuel budgets of vehicle users. It is a very convenient, reliable and efficient means of making payment for odd purchases at over 250 Total Service Stations spread across Ghana.

However, he intimated that the initiative will be rolled-out in phases - with the first phase capturing 25 Total Filling Service Station in Accra. Indeed, Total Petroleum Ghana Limited launched its Troxy Club in July 2018 as a Loyalty Reward Scheme to give relief to all commercial drivers including ‘trotro’, taxis, and motorbikes through saving on fuel and vehicle maintenance cost.

Mrs. Boatemaa Baffour-Awua said the collaboration between the two firms will help improve insurance-deepening in the country. “We believe that the coming together of Star Assurance and Petroleum Ghana in our respective industries will bring far-reaching added value to our cherished customers and patrons, thereby enriching their lives.

“It is important to state that this collaboration with Total Petroleum is one of the many efforts Star Assurance is making in deepening insurance penetration, bringing insurance closer to the insuring public, and making it more accessible,” she indicated.

Laurent Gouy, Sales and Marketing Manager of Total Ghana, observed that since the launch of Total Troxy in July 2018, thousands of drivers all around the country have signed-on and membership keeps growing.

He said the feedback and responses from commercial transport operators have been very positive. “I would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to all members of the Total Troxy Club, who have contributed in making the club a huge success.”
