Tetteh Ocloo State School for the Deaf gets support
ASA Savings and Loans Limited has
presented various items to support the needy but brilliant children of Tetteh
Ocloo State School for the Deaf in Ashaiman as part of its educational support
programme.
The ASA’s scholarship scheme and educational support programme forms part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities taken to support its operational areas.
At a short presentation in Ashaiman on Tuesday, the Branch Manager for Ashaiman branch, Mr. Ebenezer Sarpong said “It’s Christmas festive season and as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) there was the need to fulfil a support to the Tetteh Ocloo State School of the Deaf.
To add, as a company, Mr. Sarpong further said it has always been their priority to meet the needs of their stakeholders through CSR to support developmental transformation in education, health and other community related issues.
“Schools with physically challenged pupils need greater support from us and the private sector at large,” he added.
According to the Ashaiman Area Manager of ASA Savings and Loans, also, Mr Eugene Owusu Biney, without the community in business taking loans and paying on time, business would not have been where it is. So, Asa Savings and Loans always make it and effort to give and it has been a privilege to also support as CSR to the society.
He noted that as the Christmas season is here, the less privilege also needs to enjoy such a moment as well.
“The gesture programme is to motivate school children to put in more effort into their studies to improve their performance while encouraging parents not to surrender on the education of their children,” he added.
Items donated at the ceremony were 10 bags of 50kg rice, 10 boxes of bigger size tins of Tasty Tom Tomatoes paste, Vegetable Oil; 25 litres, 10 Super Pack of Indomie Noodles and 10 packs of Toilet Roll.
The headmaster for the school, showed appreciation by thanking Asa Savings and Loans for the needed immense support to the school. He urged the public to emulate what Asa Savings and Loans have done.
ASA Savings and Loans is committed to the cause of CSR and has lined up a series of activities such as awarding scholarships, organising free medical screening exercises, donations, among others, at their various operational centres.
