QLAC takes micro insurance product to Tema

Quality Life Assurance Company Limited (QLAC) launched three (3) micro insurance products at the forecourt of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Community 2 Tema, last week.

The products are “Fa Bi Sie” (Quality Investment Plan), “Wo Ba Daakye” (Quality Education Plan), “Emma No Ento Wo Ansa” (Quality Funeral Plan).

In a speech read on behalf of the Managing Director, Thomas Daniel Appiah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the company, said the three products had earlier been launched in Accra and Madina last year.

He said, the introduction of these three (3) products is to bring insurance packages closer to the informal sector as opposed to concentrating solely on the formal sector. According to him, with the collapse of many microfinance companies, it has become more difficult for many in the informal sector to invest. Hence, QLAC’s micro insurance products have come in readily to allay those concerns.

Josephine Dossah, Deputy Chief Manager in charge of marketing for QLAC explained that “Fa Bi Sie” (Quality Investment Plan) has been designed as an investment package for the informal sector whilst “Wo Ba Daakye” (Quality Education Plan) will cater to the educational needs of the children of policyholders and “Emma No Ento Wo Ansa” (Quality Funeral Plan) will take care of all funeral needs of the insured.

She said QLAC is an investment of the Catholic Bishops Conference, which has been in existence for the past 20 years. She called on inhabitants of Tema and its environs to patronise these products.

The launch coincided with the commissioning of a new office to be used for the micro insurance transactions at Tema Community 2, opposite the police station, by Rev. Fr. Raguel Kwame Quansah, Asst. Parish Priest.
