Chale’ Foundation screen special students

Chale Foundation is a non-profit organisation that is committed to improving the livelihoods of children with special needs and other vulnerable groups by providing primary healthcare services – mainly through medical outreaches, support services, research and advocacy; with support from a strong network of volunteer medics and professionals.

Over the past 3 years, Chalé Foundation has provided free and continuous medical screening to children of Dzorwulu Special School, the Teshie Orphanage, all in Accra and the Aboom Special School in Cape Coast. Screenings include eye, dental and general health care. Chale Foundation also has numerous beneficiaries who receive support with rehabilitation and medical bills.

Chale foundation organised medical screening for over 120 students and staff of the New Horizon Special School. This included general health and eye checks.

           -  mass, height, respiratory rate, blood pressure and temperature.
           -  Random Blood Sugar (RBS) of all school staff.
           -  Eye tests

Following the health screening, Chale foundation also gives counselling, referrals and provides spectacles and drugs for beneficiaries.

Ing. Kwaku A. Dovlo, Director (Fundraising) said the aim of the organisation is to provide primary health care to these groups – ‘We envisage a Ghana where there is equity for kids with special needs, orphans, disabled and other vulnerable populations via sustainable ways of improving health and other socioeconomic outcomes; Chale foundation is self-funded by volunteers and Executives with one (1) permanent staff’

‘During screenings, we solicit the support of well-meaning organizations who have given much needed support over the years like Speed Medical Centre, Wop3car, Spectacular Optics, Moore pictures, Kuulpeeps, Ergonomics Consultancy, Inlatis, Arch Image Architectural consult, Happy-Hub, Remodel IT consult and JSA Consulting Limited.

Mr Issifu Seidu – Director of Digital Services also added that, Chale foundation believes in a sustainable model of care thus all beneficiaries are enrolled on NHIS to guarantee sustainability and continued care.

Chale foundation would like to solicit support from corporate institutions as well as individuals to provide care and support for such vulnerable groups.
