Awake Purified Water picks up Product of the Year award

Awake Purified Water, a subsidiary of Kasapreko Company Limited, has won ‘Product of the Year’ at the just-ended 29th edition of Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) Awards.
The award scheme seeks to acknowledge individuals and organisations for their marketing excellence and innovations in the marketing field, and pulled together quite a number of companies and corporate affiliates.

The awards had 6 categories, including CIMG Hall of Fame, Personalities, Media, Business, Product and the President’s Special Award. The event was held at the Accra International Conference Centre on 28th September 2018 under the theme ‘Marketing: A catalyst for driving Ghana Beyond Aid’, and awarded creditable businesses.

Mr. Chris Addo-Sarkodie, Marketing and Sales Manager for Awake Purified Drinking water, speaking to the media indicated that: “We’re very excited by this award, and we feel it’s an attestation to the good strategic work that has been executed for the past two years. Indeed, we’re grateful to our hardworking distributors, general trade and, of course, our cherished consumers who have been supportive of the Awake Water brand and it’s One-4life campaign.
“Customers should continue to patronise Awake purified water to aid the Cardiothoracic Centre of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital,” Mr. Chris Addo-Sarkodie added.

Awake Purified Drinking Water has since January 2016 donated about GHC¢600,000 to the National Cardiothoracic Centre. This has supported over 20 patients with heart-related diseases to go through free surgical operations under the One4Life initiative.

Commenting on the award, Director of Water and CSDs at Kasapreko Company Limited, producer of Awake Purified Drinking Water, Mrs. Eunice Adjei Bonsu, described how honouring it is to be recognised as ‘Product of the Year’ above equally competitive products in the country.
“Awake water since inception has embarked on several innovations around profitability, providing variety on packs and sustaining the CSR initiatives to the benefit of general consumers. The product was the first water-brand to increase from 12 bottles to 16 bottles in a pack and at same price. Aside from being the first charity-driven drinking water in Ghana, Awake Water has evolved from one bottle to 5 different sizes to satisfy all classes of consumers and their needs.

“The company appreciates everyone in our route-to-market chain, and we also thank our consumers for believing and making Awake Purified Drinking Water a home-brand in Ghana. We will continue to deliver exceptional innovations as we provide quality water to Ghanaians and support patients who need medical assistance.”

Awake Purified Drinking Water is available in 19litres, 1.5litres, 750ml, 500ml and 330ml, available for purchase in all marts and shopping centres across Ghana.
