Before joining Barclays Bank Ghana, this pioneer and true visionary worked as the Chief Finance Officer of Standard Chartered Bank, South Africa and also held senior roles in Standard Chartered Bank, Ghana, spending a total of seventeen years of her career in the banking industry. Patience is also no stranger to the financial services fraternity with an undeniably impressive track record of building high performing teams and passion for customer service.

The newly appointed Hollard Ghana Holdings Group CEO says “Hollard’s purpose of doing well by doing good and helping more people to create and secure a better future, resonates well with my personal values. Insurance has great potential to create positive and enduring change in the lives of Ghanaians and I look forward to being a catalyst for this change”.

Hollard Ghana Holdings Limited is a subsidiary of Hollard International which manages the international portfolio of the Hollard Group currently operating in 18 countries in Africa and Asia. Hollard International’s vision is to aggressively grow its insurance businesses in Ghana and will do so by creating dynamic, consumer-oriented insurance solutions that meet the needs of all Ghanaians.

Hollard Insurance Ghana, formerly called Metropolitan Insurance Company (MET) operated successfully in Ghana for 25 years, until it was rebranded as Hollard Insurance Ghana in 2015 and Hollard Life Assurance Ghana which has just started trading, will both be subsidiaries of Hollard Ghana Holdings. Hollard Ghana Holdings Limited was established to support the vision of becoming the country’s number one insurance group.

Commenting on Mrs Akyianu’s appointment, the Board Chairman of Hollard Insurance Ghana Limited, Sir Sam Jonah said “We are thrilled to welcome Patience into the Hollard family as Group CEO. She brings on board extensive experience from the banking sector and an impressive track record of delivering high performance. We have an ambitious five-year plan which sees Hollard becoming the number one Insurance group in Ghana and we are confident Patience will be able to lead the transformation required to enable this happen.”
