MEA Catering and Investment clinches catering and housekeeping contract on board the Pacific Bora Drillship

MEA Catering (MENERGY GROUP), a three-decade old Ghanaian oilfield services company, has secured a competitive trans West African-Middle Eastern region offshore catering contract of six months’ duration on board the Pacific Bora, a drill ship owned and operated by Pacific Drilling (NYSE: PACD)

According to the Group Managing Director, Menergy is currently on the final steps of registering a joint venture with Pacific Drilling to provide Deepwater drilling services offshore Ghana.

In early August 2019, Pacific Bora was hot stacked at the Tema Port Anchorage for two months in the hope of securing a drilling contract in Ghana and promote local content development. It eventually moved to Abidjan for operational reasons to prepare for their upcoming drilling campaign in Oman. Despite the rig departing Ghana, Menergy and Pacific Drilling continue in their common goal to promote local content development by employing a sizable number of Ghanaian catering staff onboard the Pacific Bora. Leveraging on its experience in offshore catering on board drill ships and rigs for various offshore drilling contractors such as Seadrill, Transocean, ENSCO (now VALARIS), MEA Catering and Menergy intend to expand its expertise in offshore catering and other related services to drilling contractors globally.
