Hollard wins five awards at Finance Innovation Awards


…Group CEO, Patience Akyianu, wins Outstanding Woman in Finance



Insurance group, Hollard Ghana excelled at the recent 5th Ghana Finance Innovation Awards (GFIA) picking up five corporate and personality honours at the prestigious ceremony.
Hollard Insurance won Motor Insurance Company, and Finance Team of the Year. Group CEO, Patience Akyianu was outstanding woman in Finance and named among Top 20 finance Leaders in Ghana, while Head of Finance, Franklin Baiden was named among Top 10 CFO’s.
Patience has been at the forefront of finance in Ghana. Before becoming Group CEO at Hollard Ghana, she was the Managing Director of Barclays Bank Ghana and prior to that, the Finance Director. Before joining Barclays Bank Ghana, she worked as the Chief Finance Officer of Standard Chartered Bank, South Africa, and held senior roles in Standard Chartered Bank, Ghana, spending a total of seventeen years of her career in the banking industry.
Patience also led Hollard to win corporate awards including Motor Insurance Company, and Finance Team of the Year while Head of Finance, Franklin Baiden was named among Top 10 CFO’s.
Now in its fifth year, GFIA rewards success, product innovations and various experts contributing to the robust financial sector. The award is to showcase the efforts of financial firms, leading CFOs, finance executives, teams and their efforts towards sustainability in organisations that cut across all sectors.
Speaking on behalf of the Group, Managing Director of Hollard Insurance, Daniel Boi Addo said the company was grateful to have finance leaders recognised as stalwarts in the industry. “Our increasing success as a general insurance and life assurance group is driven by innovation in the management of our finances. He further added that the awards are a nod to the Group’s efforts to be innovative. “Winning Motor Insurance Company of the Year is a testament to the difference our policy makes in customers’ lives. Hollard’s Motor Insurance policy comes with industry-first, benefits like roadside assistance which comes to policyholders rescue when their vehicles unexpectedly breakdown.”
This is not the first time Hollard is winning at the GFIA. Last year, the company won Finance Team of the Year in the Silver category and CFO of the Year with Franklin Baiden, in the Insurance Category.
